“Savor the Couve” Continues Helping Businesses and Nonprofit Organizations
"SAVOR THE COUVE" CONTINUES HELPING BUSINESSES AND NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
All meals through the end of February are available for pre-order at ShopGVChamber.com.
Vancouver, WA - The takeout dining collaboration “Savor the Couve” hit its 10th week generating more than $77,000 for local restaurants and non-profits organizations in the Greater Vancouver area and supplying hundreds of dinners. The Greater Vancouver Chamber (GVC) encourages the community to keep supporting this program, each Thursday through the end of February.
Produced by GVC and Visit Vancouver Washington, “Savor the Couve” has already featured 35 local restaurants since November 2021, in collaboration to offer up to 150 five-course meals for two, each week, with each order curated and prepared to take home and enjoy for $125. $25 of every order purchased is donated to a different nonprofit organization around the region. The meals, consisting of two crafted cocktails, wine or microbrew, appetizers, soup or salad, entrées (including a side), and desserts, prepared in reusable containers and placed in an insulated bag to maintain temperatures and handed out drive-thru style at a specified location.
As an added benefit, ilani is giving all orders a $20 for $20 Promotional Play certificate for use at the casino. This ilani promotion will continue through the end of February 2022.
This 16-week program, presented by ilani and supported by Columbia Credit Union, was brought back by popular demand after a successful inaugural year in 2020. Among the feedback from the diners, a member of the community expressed, “Thanks for having the idea of Savor the Couve and executing it so very well. I couldn't believe how organized the ordering, communication about the order, and pick-up was. And it was so fun. This event also exposed us to restaurants I wasn't familiar with. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and a huge bonus was the donation to the parks’ organization. Well done!”
For many businesses, “Savor the Couve” has been a lifeline to keep their doors open in the middle of the pandemic. “This offers us an opportunity to feed 300 people. And that is 300 people to try our food that weren’t there before. That’s what that means. It’s incredible,” said David White, Co-Owner of Hidden House Market.
All weeks through February 24 are available for pre-order at ShopGVChamber.com. Each week over the next seven weeks will feature a dining theme:
- Thursday, Jan. 13: Back Yard BBQ
- Thursday, Jan. 20: Hawaiian Inspired
- Thursday, Jan. 27: Latin Inspired
- Thursday, Feb. 3: The Best of Asia
- Thursday, Feb. 10: Tailgate Week
- Thursday, Feb. 17: Mardi Gras
- Thursday, Feb. 24: Dinner of 2 highlighting operators who are women/or people of color
“The GVC is proud to have the opportunity of producing this event once again, working along with our founding partners and sponsors, to help sustain the food and beverage sector of our business community. It's exciting to see new diners purchasing meals, but also diners from last year who continue to buy dinner every week,” stated GVC President/CEO John McDonagh.
